Blocks & Crystals (Discontinued)

Blocks & Crystals is a small experimental voxel sandbox game inspired by classic block-based survival and creative games. The project focuses on procedural world generation, simple biomes, and creative block placement, all running directly in the browser using Three.js.

The game was developed as a technical and creative experiment to explore voxel rendering, chunk-based world loading, procedural terrain, and basic player interaction in a 3D environment.

Features

  • Procedurally generated voxel world

  • Chunk-based terrain loading and unloading

  • Simple biome system (plains, forest, desert)

  • Creative mode with unlimited blocks

  • Block placement and destruction

  • Caves, ores, trees, and terrain variation

  • First-person camera with mouse look

  • Adjustable render distance

  • Runs directly in the browser (WebGL / Three.js)

Project Status – Development Cancelled

This project is no longer in development.

Due to certain reasons (time constraints, shift of focus to other projects, and overall scope considerations), the development of Blocks & Crystals has been officially discontinued. No further updates, bug fixes, or new features are planned.

The current version is released as-is for educational, experimental, and archival purposes.

Notes

  • This is an early indev creative build

  • The game may contain bugs, unfinished systems, or unoptimized code

  • There is no survival progression, enemies, or saving system

  • Performance depends on your browser and hardware

Blocks & Crystals represents a snapshot of a learning journey into 3D game development and procedural generation. While the project will not continue, it remains available as a playable prototype and a reference point for future ideas.

Thank you for checking it out and for your understanding.
